How to Invest in the Share Market

Friday, August 6th, 2010

When starting out investing in the share market, it can be difficult to know and find out all the information you will need. One identity that you will deal with all the time is your broker. Your broker has a wealth of information and is available for you to help you make all the right choices.

How to Select A Broker That Will Work for You

Your investments mean a lot to you and will definitely play a large role in your future. Making sure that your investments get the best treatment and care you want for them is very important and will be reflected in the broker you choose. Here are some tips on how to choose the right broker that will provide the services you want for your investments.

Decide On Your Investment Goals

Before you start to look around, it is important that you decide what your goals are for your investments. This needs to be your first step because the type of broker you need depends on your goals – besides that, you will have to tell him or her what your goals are anyway.

If you simply want someone to handle your decisions for you, then you will want one type of broker (discount broker), but if you want more than that, like advice and tips, another kind (full-service) will be needed.

Choose Between Full-Service Or Discount Broker

A full-service broker can do much of what you are looking for, if you need advice, tips, and other direction or help with your investments. Other types of full-service brokers can even go beyond that if they are licensed financial planners. This would give them options to handle other investments for you including trusts, life insurance, and more.

A discount broker, on the other hand, will simply execute your plans. There is no advice and very little interaction except when you need some changes in your investments, or stocks.

Compare Services

After you have selected about three brokers whose services look good to you, you will want to compare each of the services that they offer. Every broker may vary in the services they provide for your investment, but only you have an idea of what you will need. As you look at their list of services, be sure that you get the services you want. If you should decide that you might need more services later, be sure to select one that will do those services as well, this way you do not need to start over in your search for the broker of your choice.

Understand the Fees Involved

Fees will vary among brokers, too. Some may give discounts in various situations so make sure you discover where you will get the most service for a good price from a reliable broker.

Get Referrals

As you should do when you choose any kind of professional, it always pays to get some referrals. These can come from your friends, or from the broker. Check them out and make sure that the individual really has had some kind of relationship with the broker (other than being a relative or friend) and is familiar with the quality of service being offered. This will help you make wise choices and have fewer headaches with your investments in the future.

After you go through each of these steps, you will probably find that only one or two will still look good to you. All you need to do then is to add one or two other deciding factors – such as how easily can he or she be contacted, office hours, unique services, special training, and more – then just go with the one that looks best.

No Load Term Life Insurance – A Policy That Will Save You Money

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

No load term life insurance is type of insurance coverage that you may have heard of discussed before, but never really figured out exactly what it entails. This particular type of insurance is just a non-commissioned based form of life insurance coverage.

This actually changes up the options on how you can obtain a policy as well. Instead of having to go through a specified insurance agent, you can actually receive coverage in different ways. You can still purchase the insurance through an agent, but you can also purchase the coverage over the phone or even in an application that you send through the mail.

However, do not think that simply because you’re not seeing an agent or no physical agent is present on the other end that a policy is a no load policy. Regardless if you are purchasing no load term life insurance or any type of insurance for that matter, ensure the “advisor” that you are speaking with is a licensed insurance agent.

The only difference is that the company is not the one that is held liable for paying the advisor that showcased the policy for you. Instead, normally on your first month’s premium there is an amount that states this will be the fee for the advisors costs. However, after the advisor’s costs have been paid many people notice that this particular type of insurance actually has extremely low premiums.

One disadvantage many people would say about the no load term life insurance policies is that unlike a whole life insurance policy where your money builds cash value, you have no cash value with this policy. But, on the upside your premiums are going to be less expensive then with another type of life insurance policy.

With the fees for the policy being less, you can actually set aside your own stash of cash. Or, perhaps start a bank account that goes to your family for funeral or other expenses after you pass away. In fact, this is a very attractive feature that is making a lot of people consider obtaining one of these policies.

Be aware, that not all states offer no load policies, so you will need to ask several different insurance agents or research the laws of your state to see if these policies are allowed where you reside. You will also still have to answer different medical questions and you may be asked to submit a physical in order to evaluate your current medical conditions.

One of the major advantages of the policy is the fact that you have lower premiums. However, many have retorted that one downside was the fact that when it comes to asking questions or filing claims you have to do this on your own, because once the policy is in effect, some advisors do not keep in touch as much as they should.

If an advisor does stay in touch, you may have to end up paying a fee for a service that they render to you. However, if you are a well organized person and would prefer to pay less for your life insurance, this policy would actually suit you well.

Services Available Through a Debt Settlement Program

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

No matter how hard you have tried you have been caught in a situation now that you can no longer afford to pay the minimum payments on your monthly credit card bills. You are starting to fall behind and you are noticing the late charges are building up. The companies are starting to call you and as you try to explain to them that your financial situation has changed they are explaining to you that they have closed your account and will be forwarding it to the Collections Department. You know this is the first of many since you have more than one account and have accrued more than $5K in debt. As the bills are coming through the door you are deciding which ones are more important to pay because there is not enough money to go around and the rent, utilities, and car payments is the top three on the list that will be paid. Food is next and now you barely have enough for gas.

You are starting to think of bankruptcy and see an article regarding a debt settlement program as an alternative to bankruptcy and call the number to make an appointment. As you speak with a representative and are provided some options a decision needs to be made. If you go forward a settlement plan will be designed. The creditors have stopped calling and as the debt settlement program representative keeps in touch and they will have negotiated the interest rate and total debt amount down to a more reasonable amount. There is hope and an end to a bad situation.

You know you have taken a hit on your credit score and knew it was sliding as you were missing the payments for the past months. You know you are able to keep up with the bills and now have included the settlement payment in your budget even though it meant tightened your belt even more to make it happen so this would allow you to work yourself out of this debt that has been choking you. One day down the road you will know someone else in the same situation and you will tell them of the debt settlement program. All because you saw and read and article.
